Waste Diversion

We’re proud to be a certified Green Business in Contra Costa County. Waste diversion is the effort by residents and businesses to reduce the amount of recyclable material being thrown away, ultimately ending up in landfills. Many materials can have a second life through recycling, and we are alert to opportunities. When Interform moved into our new space, we used all of the existing furniture.

We know that reuse is better than recycle. A recent client wanted to purchase new chairs for their conference room. We encouraged them to reupholster their existing chairs, which were otherwise in good condition. They were able to save money by giving the chairs a facelift and were delighted with the results. By using modular elements, we extend the life of flooring or finishings. Worn pieces can be replaced without having to do a complete rehabilitation.

Another way that we commit to the environment is by working with local vendors as much as possible to reduce the amount of time that trucks have to be on the highways--this cuts down on carbon emissions while eliminating expensive shipping costs.
